Did you know that there is a physical component to being free from bitterness and forgiving those who have wronged and hurt you? Research shows some of the benefits as improved mental health, less stress and anxiety; fewer symptoms of depression; better sleep; improved heart health; lower blood pressure; a stronger immune system; and healthier relationships. That should really come as no surprise since the Bible says that roots of bitterness trouble you and defile you. Jesus has promised a great reward in Heaven to His children for their obedience in following His commands in how they deal with their enemies. But He has also made it to
where you can reap some of the benefits of your reward right here on earth. Just be obedient to the Lord and do the right thing for the right reasons and you can begin claiming some of your rewards right where you are, right now.
Prayer:
Dear Father God,
Thank You Lord for all of the great benefits that You have promised for being obedient to You in how I deal with my enemies. And I thank You Father God that I can claim some of them right here, right now. I know that You have an even greater reward for me in Heaven Lord, and I ask that You would help me Holy Spirit with continued obedience to Your Word, so that I can claim that reward too, one day.
