Romans 8:31
What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
Romans 8:37
Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us.
2 Corinthians 2:14
Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of His knowledge by us in every place.
For those who’ve watched sports, you’ve probably witnessed your favorite sports team lose a game, maybe more times than you would care to admit. You’ve probably been on a sports team yourself or participated in another competitive event where you experienced the agony of defeat. Or perhaps, you’ve had private battles that only you and God knew about where you did not experience the thrill of victory and counted it as a loss on your end.
In battles as we know them, a loss or a win is the final outcome. It’s a loss if we don’t succeed in that battle and get defeated, whether against someone or something. It’s a win if we gain the victory by defeating our opponent, whether the opponent is a person or a thing.
Well, it’s so reassuring to know, that when you are serving the Lord, you are always on the winning team and you’re always a winner. ALWAYS. However, this fact is not readily apparent because in the natural, you can only see through your physical eyes. In the natural you are limited by time. In the natural you have a definite mark or endpoint as your final goal.
But remember, we are also spiritual beings and therefore our physical vision is limited to what we can see naturally. There is so much that you can’t see that is happening spiritually. God is always working behind the scenes on your behalf. Similarly, when we focus on the natural, we judge everything by time, meaning a limited period between two events, a beginning, and an end. But God is not limited by anything, including time. Furthermore, what you think is the end goal, may be very different than the real end goal, God’s end goal for you.
So whatever battle you are facing, recognize, accept, and claim the victory right now. Even when you can’t feel it, believe it. Even when you can’t see it, claim it. Even when it seems like all hope is gone, celebrate it. Don’t give up, don’t give in, and don’t give out. Just do your best and God will do the rest. And because the God we serve can’t lose at anything, that means you can’t ever lose at anything either. Ever. Winners walk by faith and not by sight. Keep your faith in God that the battle is already won and declare that you are always a winner with Christ.
Prayer:
Dear Father God,
Thank You Lord for the security of knowing that so long as we walk with You, we are always winners. Lord, help us to see that because You can’t ever lose at anything, those who serve You can’t ever lose at anything either. Help us to keep our faith in You and our focus on You no matter how things look in the physical. Lord, help us to do our best knowing that You will do the rest. Help us to have a closer walk with You Lord and to draw others to You that don’t already have a personal relationship with You. And Lord, help each person that walks with You to accept that the battle is already won and to boldly declare “I am always a winner in Christ”.
In Jesus most precious and holy name we pray - we praise, magnify, and love You Lord,
Amen
