Nowadays many people search their ancestry in a quest to know their roots. They want to know their ancestors to know more about themselves. But, really knowing ourselves can only happen by knowing the Godhead who made us- God the Father, His Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. Yet, it’s impossible to get to know God without going through Jesus Christ. And it’s impossible to get to know Jesus without first truly receiving Him into your heart and being rooted in Him. Droves of people are bombarded with the cares of the world because they are not rooted in Jesus. They have even fallen prey to those whose roots are exposed as not being grounded in Christ, by denying that He is the only way to God, the Father and Heaven. When you are rooted in Christ, you can’t be uprooted by the cares of the world and the false teachings of others. You are secure in who You are; you are complete in Christ. Where are your roots?
Prayer:
Dear Father God,
Thank You Lord for the opportunity that we have to be rooted in You by receiving You into our hearts. Lord so many people are incomplete because they are not rooted and grounded in You. I pray for those people Lord that their eyes would be opened. And Lord, in my quest to get to know You and therefore myself better, I ask that You deepen my roots in You, as deep as they can go. Lord I praise You and thank You that all those who are rooted in You and walk in Your ways are complete in You. Thank You Lord for being complete.
In Jesus name I pray,
Amen
And God said, Let us make man in Our image, after Our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
Genesis 1:26
As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in Him:
Rooted and built up in Him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
For in Him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
And ye are complete in Him, which is the head of all principality and power:
Colossians 2:6-10
