Psalms 119:88
Quicken me after Thy lovingkindness; so shall I keep the testimony of Thy mouth.
Psalms 19:7
The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.
Psalms 119:46
I will speak of Thy testimonies also before kings, and will not be ashamed.
Do you remember all the different tests you had to take in school? Starting with kindergarten, you had to prepare for tests, and the tests just kept coming. Even after high school and/or college, there were more tests to obtain professional or required licenses and certifications. In fact, your test taking days may not be over.
Although the numerous tests taken during your lifetime can be a difficult undertaking, the beautiful thing is there are several advantages to these tests. For example, you had or have some knowledge as to the material on the test. You have time to prepare because you know when the test will begin and when it will end. And everyone has the same standardized test with the same answer key.
However, things are very different when you undergo a spiritual test. There’s no study guide. You don’t know what your test will entail, when it will begin or when it will end. You don’t have time to prepare. These tests just seem to come out the blue. Moreover, your test is unique to you because you are uniquely created by God. There’s no one size fits all. There’s one answer key for each person’s test and only God has that answer key. Another person may have undergone a test with some similarities to your test. But because of our individual differences and experiences, no two spiritual tests are exactly alike.
Well despite all of that, for every test, God in His omnipresence and omniscience is already there waiting on you, with everything you need for a successful outcome. You can be certain that when you trust God, once you enter your test, you will victoriously exit your test in the mighty name of Jesus. So, no matter what you’ve been through, are going through, or may go through, you can have complete peace in knowing that through your test, God is preparing you for a powerful testimony for Him. There is no testimony without a test.
Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You Lord for the tests that You have allowed us to go through, those that we are still facing, and the tests yet to come. Thank You for giving us the strength when we are weak. Thank You for giving us hope when things look bleak. Thank You for the tears that we shed that create an ocean for us to swim to the other side. Thank You Lord for every trial and tribulation in our lives, for each one is another opportunity to testify of Your goodness, of Your miraculous power, of Your manifold mercies and saving grace, of Your mighty outstretched hands, and of Your unfeigned love. Lord, please help us to acknowledge that there is no testimony without a test and every test is a testimony in the making. And please help us to endure each test as a good soldier, so that we have a testimony which honors You and brings You all the glory.
In Jesus most precious and holy name we pray, thank You Lord,
Amen
