Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.
1 Corinthians 10:10
And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by Him.
Colossians 3:17
Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: For our God is a consuming fire.
Hebrews 12:28-29
It’s human nature to vent when things don’t go as you’ve planned. But before you know it, venting turns into grumbling and complaining. No doubt we have all had our fair share of things to complain about for too many reasons to name. And while complaining is understandable in certain situations, there are dangers to complaining.
First and foremost, the more time and energy given to complaining about a situation, the less time is spent thanking God and praising Him because both cannot occur at the same time. Second complaining takes the focus off of God and puts it on the problem- magnifying the problem instead of magnifying God. We are to reverence God at all times. However, it is not reverencing God when you complain about something that God may very well have allowed for your good. Every word of complaining is one less Thank You to God. Third, complaining blocks God from using you, because God can’t use complainers in His army.
So how do you get around complaining, because things definitely will challenge your patience? You put on the whole armour of God so that you can resist the temptation to complain. Thank God FIRST in every situation, which diminishes the possibility of going down the complaining trail. Ask God to use that situation to draw you closer to Him, to show you something you need to know, and/or to allow you to help someone else, because truly God allows us to go through things sometimes just to help someone else cross their bridge.

These things may be easier said than done. But with God all things are possible. And every time you make the choice to praise and thank God instead of complaining, you have no idea how much God will turn that situation around in your favor and use it for your good and His glory.
Dear Father God,
Thank You Lord for Your goodness, mercy, and grace. Please forgive me Lord for any and every time that I complained instead of thanking You first and giving You the glory due Your name. Lord I ask that You help me to be ever mindful to put You first in all things, even when, and especially when things don’t turn out the way I had in mind. Help me to use those situations Lord God as a time to grow closer to You and learn something new from the situation and even help someone else. Lord, I give You all the glory, praise, and honor.
In Jesus name I pray,
Amen
