Proverbs 24:16
For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.
2 Corinthians 2:14
Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of His knowledge by us in every place.
Micah 7:8
Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me.
Do you remember playing with a bop bag as a child? You know that inflatable toy that you could punch and no matter how many times you punched it, the toy went down but came right back up? As children, my brother and I tried to figure out what made the toy stay upright. All we knew was that there seemed to be some sort of weight at the bottom. Well, I understand more now and it’s really very simple. The base of the inflatable is filled with a mass such as a weight, sand, or even water. The mass in the base weighs more than the inflatable toy, which is actually very light. So, when the toy is punched it will go down but bounces right back up, over, and over, and over again.
In life you take punches left and right. You may have seen some punches coming, such as losing your job and even your house, because you lost your job. Other punches may have caught you off guard such as a medical diagnosis or the unexpected death of a loved one. You look back and wonder how you have endured so many punches. You look at where you’re standing now and wonder how you’re even still standing.
Assuredly when you’re walking with the Lord, you are like that bop bag. You have endured so many punches because your base is ensured by God Almighty. You’re still standing after all those punches because the Lord is the foundation that makes it possible for you to get back up again and again and again.
The Bible says a just man falls seven times and rises up again. When you’re walking with the Lord, there is absolutely nothing that can keep you down. Satan cannot keep you down. Your enemies operating through Satan cannot keep you down. You yourself cannot even keep you down. It doesn’t matter how many times you mess up, or you fall, as a child of God, the Lord is your solid base of support and because of Him, you will not, cannot stay down. He will cause you to rise again, every single time.
So, give honor to God and thank Him that through it all- though the odds were stacked up against you, you’re still standing. Even though you thought you couldn’t make it, you’re still standing. Even though others thought you couldn’t make it, you’re still standing. Even though you messed up again and caused your own self to fall- no matter what the reason, and no matter how many punches come your way, when you are serving the Lord, you will ALWAYS be still standing.
Prayer:
Dear Father God,
Thank You Lord for being our base of support. Thank You for being our foundation. Thank You for how You’ve caused us to rise again every time we fall. Lord, You said in Your word that You ALWAYS cause us to triumph in Christ. Therefore, we just need to walk in complete confidence that no matter what comes our way, no matter who, what, where, when or how, it doesn’t even matter what mess we get our own selves into, when we are serving You, we need to recognize that when we fall, we will not just sometimes rise again, but EVERY time, we will rise again and claim the victory in Jesus Christ. So Lord, help us to walk in this divine truth. And Lord for the person who has fallen and can’t get up because they are not living for You, we pray that You would touch them right now and lead them to You Lord. We stand in the gap for them and pray that they would give their life to You right now. Lord, we thank You, honor and praise You, and give You all the glory that through it all, we’re still standing.
In Jesus most precious and holy name we pray, we love You Lord,
Amen
