Peace Be Still

August 7, 2020

Whether you are inside a dwelling or outside, you can experience the fear of being caught up in a storm that has the ability to cause irreparable harm, including death. There are stories of people killed from indomitable winds that were strong enough to lift a car through the air and others who died from getting caught in a severe rainstorm of flooding that nearly covered an entire house. You may be caught in a storm in your life, whether economic, in your marriage, divorce, health related, or for any other reason that is causing you to be afraid and to lose faith. Ask yourself, why am I afraid? Why am I lacking in faith? No matter how ferocious the storm, Jesus is in total control. The winds cease and the sea lies in calm at His command- Peace be still.

Prayer:

Dear Father God,

Thank You Lord for being with me through each and every storm in my life, including the storm that I am facing now. Please search me Holy Spirit and show me where there is fear and help me to increase my faith as I face this storm with You by my side and as my Guide. You are Lord of all creation and I thank You for rebuking the winds in my life and greatly calming my stormy seas.

And He arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

Mark 4:39

And He said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? How is it that ye have no faith?

Mark 4:40

And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey Him?

Mark 4:41
