This past week was full of shocking news with the reported suicide of yet another public figure. Many are questioning why, how, what…especially family members and close friends who wonder what signs they could’ve missed. But sometimes no matter how close relationship, people still suffer in silence.
It’s said that time heals all wounds. But that’s not always true, evidenced by the fact that people can suffer a lifetime and then decide they can’t continue living in pain, depression, guilt, sadness, grief, hopelessness, any of these, a combination of all, or more. Survivors and onlookers don’t understand what could lead a person to suicide when he or she seems to be on top of the world. But although some people may appear to be on top of the world, in fact, the world may be on top of them. What looks up, may really be down, and what looks right may really be wrong to the person who is suffering.
But one thing is for sure, God and only God can truly fix any situation. He will not forsake those who come to Him with a sincere heart. He is the only One that can truly heal all wounds, erase the pain, heal the depression, lift your burdens, turn a pile of mess into a masterpiece. Jesus died on the cross so that we don’t have to suffer alone, ever. He died so that we have eternal hope. He conquered death for us so that we can live, truly live.
No matter what you’re going through today, there is hope. Turn to the One who loves you like no other, who has the strength you need to go on, who can erase the pain, who can wipe away your tears, who can restore your joy or give you the joy you never had, who can fix the situation- Only God.
Prayer
Dear Father God,
Thank You for Your unmatched love, care, and concern. Thank You for sending Your only begotten Son, Jesus Christ to die on the cross for our sins and to therefore deliver us from anything and everything that tries to hold us down, take our hope, take us out. Lord, I speak deliverance right now in the mighty name of Jesus over the minds of those who are in despair, despondent, depressed, and/or in pain. I pray that they will seek You as never before. I speak life in Your mighty name Jesus over any feelings of suicide that they may have. I pray that they would know that You came that they might have life and more abundantly. I pray that they will know that You can fix ANY situation. I pray that they know Only You God- only You.
In Your most holy and precious name we pray Jesus, thank You Lord
