Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

Proverbs 3:6 In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.

Isaiah 30:21 And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it,

when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.

Life is full of decisions, which are different than choices. A decision is a conclusion gotten after consideration. A choice involves making a selection when faced with two or more possibilities. A decision therefore is a choice one makes after thinking about what’s before them. Often people make choices without thinking. And sometimes people make decisions without giving enough careful consideration to the possible outcome of their decisions.

Life for each person began surrounding a decision and then usually parents or a parent decides what the child’s name will be. About 12 months of age, an infant starts making choices. Around 2 years old, a toddler understands some of the consequences for their choices and therefore start making decisions, such as considering whether to touch something hot that he or she touched before, and it hurt.

As adults, we have the ability to know that our decisions have consequences. In fact, one decision can have consequences that last a lifetime, such as in the case of Adam and Eve. Their ultimate decision to disobey God caused not only consequences to them, but to their marriage, future family, and all generations to come. That one decision made all the difference.

The most important decision that a person can make in his or her life is to live for Jesus by accepting Him into their heart. That one decision will undoubtedly change the course of not only their life, but the lives of their offspring as well. And the decision will be all for the better and only for good.

If you have already made that one, most important decision to live for Jesus by accepting Him into your heart you have made the absolute best decision that you can make for you and your family. However, you will continuously be faced with other important decisions in your walk with the Lord. Seek the Holy Spirit to guide you and give you the discernment to make the right decision that will always honor God, because one decision can change everything.

Dear Father God,

Thank You Lord for being the best decision of my life. I know that because of Your mercy and grace, accepting You into my heart and living for You affects not only my life, but that of my offspring as well. Lord, I ask You to guide me by Your Holy Spirit to always make decisions that honor You and lift up Your Holy name. Lord I pray for more discernment in making decisions by recognizing people and things that are not of You. I pray this not only for myself but for all my family and loved ones. And Lord I specifically pray for my loved ones that they would make that one most important decision to accept You into their heart and live for You. Lord I also pray that at least one person who has not made the decision to live for You will do that on today, because one decision can change everything and when that decision is to live for you, it does change everything, all for the better. I love You Lord.

In Jesus most holy name I pray,

Amen
