Psalms 147:3

He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.

Matthew 5:44

But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

Matthew 5:45

That ye may be the children of your Father which is in Heaven: for He maketh His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

1 Peter 5:7

Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you.

In an ideal world, our relationships would be flawless. Everyone we know would always love us and demonstrate their love for us by having our best interests at heart. They would continually lift us up and encourage us. They would eternally enhance our quality of life. In an ideal, perfect world we would all go through life never knowing what it feels like to be hurt by someone.

But we all know we don’t live in an ideal world and therefore, no relationship is perfect. It’s inevitable, people are going to hurt you. Sometimes they may hurt you unintentionally and believe it or not, there are people who will hurt you intentionally. But no matter their intentions, sometimes, the pain is all the same, and it can be devastating.

So, what do you do? Well, there’s a saying when someone does something to hurt you- don’t curse it, don’t rehearse it, don’t nurse it. When someone hurts you, bless them like the Lord instructed us to do, bless not curse. That could be as simple as praying that God would bless them with salvation. When someone hurts you, don’t give energy to their words or actions, by rehearsing the event over and over in your mind, living with it, sleeping with it, waking up to what they did and/or said and carrying that with you throughout your day. By the same token, don’t spend your valuable energy nursing their hurtful actions by focusing your attention on why someone did what they did to hurt you. Sometimes you will receive a reason followed by a sincere apology. But people are who they are, and it will take an act of God to change some people and make them accountable for their hurtful actions. That’s because some people who hurt you do so out of being led by Satan and will continue to try and hurt you until they fully submit their lives to the Lord. You just need to recognize and accept that fact and put them in God’s hands.

So, when someone does something to hurt you, don’t curse it, don’t rehearse it, don’t nurse it, instead immerse it. Immerse what they did and your pain in God’s sea of love, comfort, and peace. The Lord said cast all your cares upon Him for He cares for you. The Lord’s love heals any wound. His comfort is everlasting, and His peace surpasses all understanding. When you immerse your pain caused by others into God’s divine healing sea, God will take that pain and replace it with spiritual purpose so He can use you in a mighty way for His kingdom. God will take your pain and turn it into your passion to help others. When you immerse your pain in God’s divine healing sea, He will turn every negative that you experienced because of your pain into a positive, to grow you, strengthen you, and bless you in ways you could never imagine. When you immerse the thing or things that someone did to hurt you in God’s divine healing sea, He will work it together for good for His glory.

Prayer:

Dear Father God,

Thank You Lord for being our Healer. Lord, sometimes the actions of others can be so hurtful that the pain can be gripping and paralyzing, consuming the heart, mind, body, spirit, and soul. Lord, I pray that anyone who is dealing with pain inflicted by someone they know, would turn to You, and immerse the painful experience along with all their pain into Your divine healing sea of love, comfort, and peace. I pray that You would turn their pain into something good Lord replacing it with divine purpose and passion that will grow and strengthen them in new ways. I pray that You will give them spiritual release and a heart of forgiveness. And Lord I pray for those who intentionally seek to hurt others that You would bless them to truly submit their lives to You and serve You as their Lord and Savior.

In Jesus' most holy and precious name we pray, thank You Lord,

Amen
