Acts 13:23
Of this man's seed hath God according to His promise raised unto Israel a Saviour, Jesus:
2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
Psalms 89:34
My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of My lips.
1 John 2:25
And this is the promise that He hath promised us, even eternal life.
Isaiah 7:14
Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son,
and shall call His name Immanuel.
People make lots of promises, some kept and others not. Some people make promises with good intentions, but circumstances beyond their control can make their promises null and void. Others make promises with bad intentions, because truth be told, they never intended to deliver on the promises they made. Whether good or bad intentions, promises do get broken.
But what assurance to know that in a world full of unsurety and broken promises, God’s promises are never broken. God promised that He would never forsake the righteous. God promised peace everlasting to all who serve Him. God promised eternal life to all who have sinned and would otherwise be condemned to eternal death. He has promised these things and so much more through His ultimate promise, His Son, Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world.
Jesus Christ is the promise that you can always count on when all other promises fail. He is the promise of peace beyond understanding, of hope everlasting, of divine true love. He is the promise of all things good. Jesus is the promise of eternal life to all who believe He is the Son of God, confess their sins to Him, accept Him into their heart, and commit their way to Him. Jesus Christ, the King of kings and Lord of lords is The Ultimate Promise.
Prayer
Dear Father God,
Thank You for giving us the Ultimate Promise, Your Son, Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world. Jesus, the only promise that can never be broken. Jesus, the promise of hope in the face of adversity. Jesus, the promise of peace beyond all understanding. Jesus, the promise of pure divine love. Jesus, the promise of life eternal. Lord I ask that You help me by Your Holy Spirit to always live a life that’s pleasing to You, thereby showing gratitude for Your sacrificial love in sending Your only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, The Ultimate Promise. I love You Lord.
In Jesus name I pray,
Amen
