For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
But when the morning was now come, Jesus stood on the shore: but the disciples knew not that it was Jesus.
Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved saith unto Peter, It is the Lord…
Thank God we serve a risen Savior! Jesus lives! He conquered death and controls everything in existence and nonexistence.
Even though death couldn’t hold Jesus, even though He told His disciples and others that He was going to be resurrected, when He appeared to His disciples after He was resurrected, some of His disciples didn’t know that it was the Lord standing before them. Even Simon Peter who walked and talked with Jesus almost daily before Jesus was crucified did not recognize that it was Jesus standing before him. It wasn’t until ‘the disciple who Jesus loved’ told Peter “It is the Lord” that Peter knew it was Jesus.
Can you fully grasp what those simple four words really mean? Those four simple, but packed words carry more power, more weight than everyone in the world put together can ever imagine. Jesus Christ, Lord of lords and King of kings. Jesus, The Messiah, Wonderful, Counsellor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. That’s who the disciple whom Jesus loved was referring to when he said, “It is the Lord”.
Those four, simple, yet all powerful words carry the same meaning today. It is the Lord Jesus Christ who willingly gave His life for the sins of the world. It is the Lord, The Lord of lords who conquered death. It is the Lord, the King of kings who sits at the right hand of God and is the only mediator between God and man. It is the Lord, The Messiah, The Savior, the only one who can save anyone from anything.
It is the Lord, who is not just wonderful, but His name is Wonderful because He’s perfect. He’s divine magnificence. His dazzling brilliance can never be matched, and His warming radiance is utterly breathtaking. It is the Lord, Counsellor, the Ultimate Therapist because He made you and therefore knows every single thing about you, more than you or anyone could ever know. He’s the only therapist that has the solution for every one of your problems and no matter what you’ve done or who You are, He cares for you and treats you with such tender compassion, of which the world will never be able to comprehend.
It is the Lord, The Mighty God whose strength is unparalleled. There’s nothing too hard for Him. It is the Lord, The Everlasting Father, He is eternal. You can always count on Him. He will never ever leave you or forsake you. And it is the Lord, The Prince of Peace who gives you peace that surpasses all understanding. It is the Lord.
Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for being our Everlasting Father, our everything. Lord, help us to increase our spiritual vision, hearing, and discernment to recognize You Lord, standing right before us. When we’re tired and feel like we can’t go on, help us to see You standing there, O Mighty God, to give us the strength we need to go the distance. When we are afraid Lord for whatever the reason, help us to see You standing there to give us the confidence we need to make it. When we are faced with a problem Lord, help us to see You standing there in Your perfection with the perfect solution. When we lack wisdom, Lord help to us see You standing there imparting divine knowledge to us through Your dazzling, omniscient brilliance. And when we are troubled Lord, help us to see You standing there radiating Your divine peace throughout our minds, bodies, and souls. Lord, in all things, help us to see You standing before us as we boldly proclaim, “It is the Lord”.
In Jesus most holy and precious name we pray, we love You Lord,
