When Amaziah succeeded his son Joash to become the 9th King of Judah, he did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, but not with a perfect heart. After God gave him the victory over his enemies, he worshipped idols! Why? One reason is because he didn’t remember all that God had done for him. Not that it wasn’t in his memory, he just didn’t take the time to consider all of God’s marvelous works towards him and how God had saved him from his enemies. God instructs us throughout His word to remember… When we remember all that God has done for us, we block entrances for pride, sin, doubt, anxiety, depression, confusion and other things the enemy uses to distract us from doing God’s will. When we remember, we gain encouragement, strength, peace, and joy. God is saying 'Remember Who I Am, what I’ve done, and all that I can do. I am the Lord God Almighty- I Am that I Am'. God is saying Remember…
Prayer:
Dear Father God,
Thank You Lord for Your marvelous works. When I consider all that You have done for me-how many times You have healed me, delivered me from dangerous situations, answered all of my prayers, came through for me every single time, blessed me beyond measure, forgave me, protected me and my family- Lord, I am overwhelmed to my very core. Lord, please help me to always remember, no matter what happens, who You are, what You’ve done, and all that You can and will do, for that is my strength.
In Jesus name I pray,
Amen
Remember His marvellous works that He hath done, His wonders, and the judgments of His mouth;
1 Chronicles 16:12
And I said, This is my infirmity: but I will remember the years of the right hand of the most High.
I will remember the works of the LORD: surely I will remember Thy wonders of old.
I will meditate also of all Thy work, and talk of Thy doings.
Psalms 77:10-12
