God is Moving You Out of Your Comfort Zone

January 21, 2024

Isaiah 43:19

Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

Jeremiah 32:27

Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for Me?

1 Thessalonians 5:24

Faithful is He that calleth you, who also will do it.

You walk into your tranquil home after a tiring, busy day. You take a minute to kick off the shoes you’ve been in for ten long hours, wash your hands, and sink into the plushness of your soft, cozy sofa. You are now in your comfort zone.

Perhaps you’re at a job you know inside and out because you’ve been there for many years, or the work comes naturally to you. You get along well with your coworkers, and the commute is easy. You’re in your comfort zone.

Being in a comfort zone means feeling safe, secure, and at ease. It’s a wonderful place. But staying in your comfort zone can be stifling. It may be hindering your growth and holding you back from new opportunities. Staying in your comfort zone may prevent you from being the best version of yourself you can be, the person God created you to be.

Receiving all God has for you requires moving outside your comfort zone. It requires that you give up one thing to get something better. It requires loss to have gain. It requires sacrificing the old to get the new. These changes can be uncomfortable, but they are necessary to achieve what God has in store for you.

God has so much more for you than what you are holding onto. He has untold blessings that you can’t even begin to imagine. He has a plan for you that is the absolute best plan with the best possible outcomes. But you must be willing for Him to move you out of your place of comfort.

So, get ready for God to do a new thing in your life this year. Let go of everything holding you back from what He has for you. Tell God you’re ready. Take that first step and keep on stepping no matter how difficult the journey. God is with you, and He’s moving you out of your comfort zone for better, for greater, for Him.

Prayer:

Dear Father God,

Thank You, Lord, for moving me out of my comfort zone so that I can do more and be more for You. Lord, I know it may be uncomfortable and even challenging for me. But I know there’s nothing too hard for You, and You’re all I need to make the change. Lord, I am ready to make the necessary changes. I give all my fears, doubts, and worries to You as You move me out of my comfort zone into Your sacred zone. I praise You and give You all the glory.

In Jesus' most holy and precious name, I pray, I love You, Lord.

Amen
