From Sinner to Forgiven

January 11, 2021

There are some labels that people will never let a person live down. For instance, Mary Magdeline was labeled a sinner and by some accounts a prostitute. Regardless of the steps she took to overcome her past, some people were determined to hold her hostage to that past forever, even though she had been delivered. Truth be told, the whole world was and is in need of a Savior. That's why Jesus Christ came into the world, to save all of mankind from their sins. Jesus let it be known that though her sins were many, Mary Magdeline had been forgiven and no longer had to wear any labels from her past. And you don't have to wear any labels from your past either. All who turn to God can boldly refuse to be held hostage to a past that has been wiped clean by the One who has the power to forgive all sins, Jesus Christ, and they can confidently wear the label Forgiven.

Prayer:

Dear Father God,

Thank You Lord that through Your lovingkindness, You can forgive any sin and replace the label of Sinner with Forgiven for all who turn to You. Lord I ask that You help me not to wear any labels and/or be a hostage to anything of my past, not by my doing or anyone else's, because I have forgiveness through Your blood that was shed for me and all of mankind. I praise You Lord God for Your endless mercy, love, and grace.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

Now when the Pharisee which had bidden Him saw it, he spake within himself, saying, This man, if He were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth Him: for she is a sinner.

Luke 7:39

And He turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thine house, thou gavest Me no water for My feet: but she hath washed My feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head.

Thou gavest Me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss My feet.

Luke 7:44-45

My head with oil thou didst not anoint: but this woman hath anointed My feet with ointment.

Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.

And He said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven.

Luke 7:46-48
