There’s a law of physics concerning electrical circuits called Ohm’s Law. One of the principles of Ohm’s Law is that the electrical current of a circuit, such as a in a battery, or metal wire, is inversely proportional to the resistance of the circuit, when the voltage of the circuit is held constant. In other words, as the resistance increases, the current or the flow of electricity in the circuit decreases and vice versa.
You can also apply Ohms Law to your walk with the Lord. Think of your spirit as the circuit and the current as the flow of blessings from the Lord, including His strength, power, knowledge, communication to you, and/or guidance from the Holy Spirit. Resistance can be things such as doubt, fear, pride, complaining, or impatience.
Whether you know it or not, God’s blessings are continuously flowing in the lives of His children. God is continuously working behind the scenes on your behalf. He wants only good things for you, but all so that you can live in harmony with Him, giving Him all the glory. However, without even knowing it you can resist what God has for you and cause your own hindrance to God’s blessings for your life.
But when you remove those things from your life that are a source of resistance, you leave yourself open to receive God’s continuous flow of blessings. When you replace doubt with complete trust in God, thank Him and praise Him instead of complaining, have patience instead of trying to rush God, which you can’t do anyway, you put yourself in the best position to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit and receive all that God has for you. So, the next time you find yourself having doubt, fear, complaining or anything that could be a source of resistance, think of how you are in essence resisting what God has for you. Position yourself to have the least amount of resistance to God’s continuous flow of blessings. And remember that God’s wants to keep His amazingly divine current of spiritual blessings flowing to you and through you.
Prayer
Dear Father God,
Thank You Lord for being the source of all things good in our lives. Thank You for being a good, good Father, the best. Lord, please help us to see clearly when we are resisting Your blessings that are continuously flowing to us and through us. Help us to replace fear with complete confidence in You, doubt with complete trust in You, complaining with thanking and praising You, any pride with complete humility, and impatience with patience for all that You’re going to do. Forgive us for any time that we did anything to resist your blessings, Lord. Help us by Your Holy Spirit to position ourselves to receive Your continuous divine flow of blessings in our lives. We give You all the glory, praise, and honor Lord.
In Jesus’ most precious and holy name we pray, thank You Lord,
