Everything in life is based on choices. Sure, there are things that happen beyond your control, but never beyond God’s control. Therefore, no matter what happens, you have a choice in how you respond to the circumstances. When you face adverse events, or things go contrary to what you’ve planned, when you feel overwhelmed because you’re pulled in many different directions and are having a hard time balancing it all, or when you’re having a day where nothing seems to be going right-you have a choice. You can choose to focus on the problem, or you can choose to focus on God, the Problem Solver- you can choose stress or divine peace. When you keep your focus on God, by default you are choosing His divine peace. You can then hear the Holy Spirit’s voice more clearly for direction, solutions, and balance. So, whatever comes your way, keep your focus on God, embrace His peace, and thank God for having it all under His divine control.

Prayer:

Dear Father God,

Thank You Lord for the freedom to choose how I respond to my circumstances. I know that you are the God of Control and that for every problem, as long as I choose to keep my focus on You, the Problem Solver, and not the problem, I will have divine peace amidst the chaos. Holy Spirit, I know it is then that I will be able to hear Your voice more clearly providing me with solutions, direction, and balance. Lord I ask that You quickly help me to be mindful of these things at all times. I know that in every situation, I have a choice, and I choose Your divine peace over stress.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

Colossians 3:15

And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.

Isaiah 30:21

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:7
