Psalms 77:11
I will remember the works of the LORD: surely I will remember Thy wonders of old.
Psalms 143:5
I remember the days of old; I meditate on all Thy works; I muse on the work of Thy hands.
Isaiah 46:9
Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like Me,
Sometimes we can all get bogged down. You’re dealing with this problem and that, and this person and that, and this situation and that. And then some things seem to come completely out of left field, totally unexpected, and you don’t have a clue how you will deal with it all. Those times can be depressing and weigh heavily on your spirit. You may feel like there’s no end in sight, or you can’t see any solution no matter how hard you try.
Well during these times it’s so important to remember what the Lord has done. It’s important to remember that time that He brought you out, that time where He worked it out, that time where He sorted it out. It’s important to remember how the Lord healed you, He answered your prayer, He made a way. And if you can’t recall a time that God did it for you, just open Your Bible and read and meditate on all the times in the Bible where He did it for others. Read about Blind Bartimaeus and how God gave him his sight. Read how God delivered Daniel from the lion’s den and Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego from the fiery furnace. Read about how God delivered the children of Israel out of bondage, parted the Red Sea, made a way for them to go through, and fed them with manna from Heaven in the middle of the desert.
If you’re feeling discouraged about your situation and feel your hope is dwindling and/or if you’re feeling unsure about your situation, just remember what the Lord has done. Know that God still performs miracles. He’s the same yesterday, today, and forevermore. What He did for you then, He can do it again, and what He’s done for others, He can do the same thing for you. Have faith, claim it, own it, and remember what the Lord has done.
Prayer:
Dear Father God,
Thank You Lord for being Who You are, the Almighty God who can do anything but fail. Lord, we ask that You bless us in our moments of obscurity and/or weaknesses to remember this fact. We ask that You surround us with Your love and people to help encourage us during these times. We give You all the glory Lord and are strengthened as we remember all that You have done. We praise You Lord for all that You’re doing. And we honor You and trust You for all that You’re going to do. We love You Lord, and we thank You.
In Jesus mighty name we pray,
Amen
